Social Studies Olympiad is an event that consists of off-site events for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. There are many events to choose from (listed below). Graebner is registered for 2 divisions: The Intermediate Division for our 6th graders, and Elementary Division for our 4th through 5th graders.
The format has changed for 2020 in that there are no on-site events, all events will be submitted by mail or video link to the coordinator of the particular event. In addition, the awards ceremony will take place at the individual schools, not an off-site event.
All students were presented with a summary of each event, and were given the details of the event they were interested in. After getting permission to participate in the event from parents, students can officially register with Ms. Noechel in the Media Center by Feb. 7, 2020. There is no cost to participating in any event.
Students are responsible for completing their activity and mailing it in by the deadline: March 28. I would suggest mailing it in earlier and confirming that the entry has been received. Posters can be dropped off at the MISD on Garfield Rd. in the office of Sean McBrady.
