code.org at home6th graders can continue their coding lessons at home by following this link:
Go to https://studio.code.org/sections/TCFPYL or to https://studio.code.org/join and type in your 6-letter section code: TCFPYL Office 365 Now Available to our sixth graders! The district has now provided Office 365 to all of our 6th graders in the district!! This is so exciting, because Office 365 gives students access to their own One Drive account (for storage), Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel. AND, Office 365 automatically saves their work!
To access their account, just go to www.office365.uticak12.org from ANY device and log in (with their regular school log in). That's it! In fact, 6th graders have saved their questions for their Snapshot in History project in their One Drive so they have access at home to these questions and can add to them if they need to; or, they can access them to conduct their interview! Snapshot in history projectS!The Snapshot in History projects were awesome this year! What a great keepsake to have these stories preserved for generations to come! I LOVE listening to these stories and learning about the various cultures, backgrounds and experiences that make up our Graebner community!
Thank you for sharing your stories with us! |
Video resumé & iMovie projectsStudents have also been taking and collecting pictures for their iMovie which is a collection of pictures throughout their lives. This project is strictly a keepsake for the student, and will be shared with family and friends only.
This is an ongoing project to be completed at school; however, taking and collecting pictures can be done at home. Pictures can be brought to school on a flash drive, emailed to [email protected], or hard copies can be scanned at school to import to their projects. In addition, all sixth graders will need a picture of themselves at 5 years old or younger. Again, these pictures can be brought in any of the ways I mentioned earlier. They will be using those "baby pictures" for a few projects. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at the above email address. Career Focus Luncheon
The 27th annual Career Focus Luncheon for Graebner's sixth graders will be held in May 2020 at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township. The annual event is sponsored by the Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence.
During the luncheon the sixth graders will have the opportunity to discuss careers and college options with business leaders in the community. They also will share their video resumés, as well as their QR codes on their badges that link to their digital business cards. |
